My practice actively investigates and exhibits the attributes centered around assumed gendered roles and the female experience. Through cartoonish illustrations and ceramic objects, I highlight the mundane interactions that a female may encounter on a day to day basis. I find satisfaction through the blending of female assumed expectations and satirical humor. My intention is to spotlight situations that are inherently connected to the female experience, while implying how distorted the standard expectations that have been attached to females and their assumed roles in society. By questioning accustomed roles through my process, I hope to reorient the viewer's perspective of the female narrative. By modernizing the viewers' frame of mind with my illustrations, I want it to catalyze a new rhetoric of compassion that is used in regards to the experiences a female may encounter. My personal past and personal experiences is the sentiment that drives my work.
